The Collector Manikin REALLY REALLY REALLY wants to be human. Most Manikins do -- one manages to sort of explode himself in the process of trying to discover a way to, via use of the Afterlife Bell. And more than most, the Collector really really admires humans. He... thinks it's impossible. So instead he gets as close to his image of humans as he can through their things. I mean, he's excited to meet and know them in person too! But human belongings carry so much history you can't get from dialogue. If he could become human... he would. In a heartbeat.
Kuroyuri! The Collector Manikin thinks... he's trying too hard, somehow, but he's not sure in what way. Something about the way Kuroyuri comes off. He can tell that Kuroyuri hates humans, but he's not convinced Kuroyuri isn't human. He's interested in him, but in a way where he knows he'll have to restrain himself a little or either get mocked or bore him.
