Date: 2009-02-05 05:53 am (UTC)Heat thinks it's weird but in some ways he... doesn't want to touch it. He gets that a lot of it is from the past in a way that ...almost none of the others do, I think. Maybe none of them. Gale and Heat are both the two who carry forward some of the biggest and heaviest past stuff, which is kind of funny given that the two of them reincarnated differently. I don't think he knows about "David" beyond what Madame may have said (which is possibly *something*, given that Sera is HIS big point of manipulation, and she's using him against Angel, and she does ... pull up strange emotive ties). But even if he did know, he wouldn't mention it and wouldn't expect Gale to ever bring up O'Brien. Not cool.
So that said, he ...has some sense that there is baggage there, the same stuff that made Gale act funny when "Angel" was mentioned after the initial briefing at the temple, or what made Gale save Angel instead of offering his hand to anyone else. And he... can't resent that, so he takes a step back from it. He hates Angel. He hates Cuvier more, mind, but he still loathes Angel. Something about treating him as sub-human and dragging Sera around by her hair and hurting her and using her and yeah, Heat does not like Angel. But he's never going to judge Gale for doing so.
I mean, he'll poke at Gale over a lot of things. He doesn't hate Gale -- likes him, even -- but likes him with a great deal of irritation and antagonism. And he's not going to hide the fact he hates Angel. But he's never going to imply that Gale and Angel should not be doing this. In some ways, he trusts Gale to -- not "know what he's doing", although he does. But to remain himself.
